This is my first time to Rootz Dance Club which have just opened a couple of months ago. There were a mix review of this place. Some say it's nice and some say it sucked. I've not been partying for a couple of months already and the last time I went clubbing was at Zouk - my usual partying place. Haha...

So Thursday was the perfect day for the girls to hang out since Friday is a public holiday. I was on leave on Thursday but I did not get any rest as I have to go around delivering chocolates to my relatives and friends... sigh...

Rootz Dance Club is situated on the 8th floor of Lot 10 Shopping Complex and it's inspired by the architecture of great Russian museums and imperial places and thus the baroque intricate designs adorn the interior. It's quite a simple place really because the designs of the russian themed windows and wall are all done with the clever use of printed organza amidst the white walls. I wonder what happens when someone accidentally lit one of the cloths?!! hehe....

The queue to go in was kinda long on Thursday night as we arrived there only at around 11.30pm. I think it took us more than 30 minutes to get in because you have to pay for cover or bottle at the counter right before the entrance to the club. The entrance is also quite small, making the queing and re-entering a little packed and difficult. If you ask me, I don't think I'll like to queue like that again.

The club was playing R&B one second and then an hour of house so it's a mix of music for the whole night. There is also a big podium/stage where girls can strut their stuff. Guys occasionally go up and show off only to be booed by the DJ and the clubbers. Sometimes these guys can be so thick-skinned because even after the DJ announced that the podium is only for girls, they still continue dancing like no one's business! hahha!

The cover charge is RM40 with one drink. If you buy a bottle (Chivas 12 yo - RM287.50, JD - RM414), it only admits 3 unlike other places that allows 4. So this is quite an exclusive and expensive club. But I must say that the quality of guys there are quite above standards - as in good looking and well dressed! And the girls are pretty too! Ooh lala...
