It's been too long a time since I last step foot into Kota Permai. We used to swim there and my dad used to have a golf membership there but I was too young then. After 18 years old, we have to be a member ourselves to use the facilities so I said what the hell, I'll just join the gym. Moreover, the gym sucks there and there's no one to accompany me for a swim there so no point wasting my $$$. They have added a new shaded carpark which they turned the roof of the carpark into a basketball and tennis court.
The driving range there was quite quiet and all of them are like middle-aged and above so we were the only "young" people there. We may be the youngest there but in terms of skills, we were no where near these uncles. They're so good. Their hit can fly the balls 5 times further than ours! Ok, so maybe they've been playing for years but it's quite embarrassing trying to measure up with their stamina. After a few hits, I'm already sweating.
I was just thinking, if golf can make me sweat, it's better than going to the gym then. It just cost me RM10 for 100 balls and if I hit 200 balls a week, it's just RM80 and the gym membership costs me almost RM150 a month. The best thing is that Kota Permai is so near my house! There will be no traffic jam or parking fees.
So after hitting about 50 balls, we decided to camwhore a bit before continuing and we were really good at camwhoring - at least better than at playing golf. Everyone else was busy hitting, we were busy playing with the camera phone. They must be thinking we were crazy. Yep, we were fooling at the riving range. So what?!! We did take some video shots too showing how good we are at golfing but the videos are inverted so I'm still trying to find out how to rotate them.
As I was hitting the balls, I found one of the balls to be of the Callaway golf ball and I insisted that I must keep the ball because it matches my Callaway Steelhead X.16 golf sticks. Greg called me a thief but I told him that I bought the balls at RM10. So even if I were to take everything, it's fair. He insisted that I rented the balls but I told him that there were no words saying balls for rent at the price board. I won the argument and I kept the ball.
Then we went on to finish up all the remaining balls. Instead of trying to aim high and far, we aimed at the people that were collecting the golf balls with the umbrellas to shield themselves from the flying golf balls. Greg hit one of them! It was fun. At least we have some target to aim at!
After that, we drove to McDonalds for Sundae Cone and french fries. The greatest invention in Kota Kemuning is McDonalds!!! Besides that, everything else bores me. Looking for another golfoos session with another one of my friends next week who lives near my house as well.
