Emily

She's my insurance agent, my family friend and my party partner. It's difficult to imagine how we became friends. It was when I started working two years ago, mom introduced me to her whom happened to be her friend's daughter. Emily just started selling insurance because she hated her rigid full time job. She was convincing and also patient in explaining the policies and since I needed to buy insurance, I decided why not buy it from her since I know no one in the industry.

After that, we became friends since we both live in the same neighbourhood. We went to parties together and it was actually Emily whom exposed me to places like Zouk, The Atrium and other cool parties. It was her job to socialise. Sometimes I used to go to her house to hang out and her mom makes very nice popiahs. During my birthdays, she would buy me presents and cakes. She does it for all her clients including my mom and my colleagues who bought from her. She's definitely not the usual type of insurance agent that sells you the policy and then went missing until they need another policy from you.

She's quite a cool friend. She's the one that takes me to all the glitzy parties such as the recent BMW Sauber F1 Pit Lounge because she just bought a red mini cooper. Flexible working time and good income - maybe I should sell insurance instead of marketing chocolates?!!

It was her birthday yesterday and I decided to make her a card apart from a beaded necklace that I bought for her from 1U yesterday. Since my sister has everything in the world to make cards, I wanted to put her stuff in good use. Hehe...after all I did contribute some items to her card-making tools.

Not bad huh? Simple and cute.

It's quite easy making the card but the amount of tools you'll need will burn a hole in the pocket. Ever since my sis started making these cards, she had spent almost RM500 in buying the papers, stickers, eyelets and charms. Lucky her friends bought her the tool set which includes the hammer, tweezer, hole puncher and other tools to make the cards which costs about RM150. Materials such as eyelets and stickers are not cheap too. You can get it from Craft Haven in 1U. Seriously, I think buying cards from Memory Lane is much cheaper and faster. If only you have time and money, you can try card making. It's addictive and a waste of money.
