Plan b. @ Bangsar Village 1

If Plan A doesn't work, there's always a Plan b.

Since I'm on leave on Wednesday, I decide to go to Bangsar for a lunch and then watch a movie at 1Utama. Anyways that's the best day to catch a movie due to the discount. I've been longing to watch the Real Steel and finally I managed to do it. It's indeed a very nice movie with lots of touching moments and good acting as well.

Back to lunch, Plan b. is one of the outlets that I wouldn't mind returning to. I like the simple deco and cosy ambience coupled with the good food. This is also the place where you can still order from a breakfast menu until 6pm. The last time I was here, I had a breakfast set and a really good Velvet cake but this time I let my friend do the ordering.

Soft-Shell Crab Salad RM19

This is really a nice salad with a combination of watercress, slices of crunchy green apples, cucumber served with harissa mayo and deep fried soft-shell crab. However, we find the soft-shell crab too oily. For me, the salad is enough to fill me up and I don't think I can have another dish if I were to eat this on my own.

Nasi Dagang RM24

The Nasi Dagang came as a wrong order. We did not order this but the waiter took the wrong order and so being a Malaysian, I just accept it -loh. The nasi dagang came with a bowl of Gulai Ayam (yellowish spicy-curry like sauce with chicken) and Solok Lada (stuffed green chilli with mackerel), acar rampai (pickled cucumber and carrots with and keropok (savoury crisp made from rice flour with prawn flavours). I must admit that I seldom take Malay cuisine but this bowl of Gulai Ayam is really good. It's not too spicy and the chicken thigh is tender.

Chicken Percik RM24

It's interesting to see a plate of blue rice being served. This Chicken Percik dish is served with herbs and a nicely marinated chicken. I like the taste of the chicken but I don't really fancy eating the plate of herbs and greens. It's just not my type of food.

The overall dining experience could be better but I have to say that the service that I got that day wasn't very satisfactory. Not only they got the order wrong, they didn't even return with a plate when I requested for one. I just hope that they will buck up on their service as I really like this place here.
