Victoria Market @ Melbourne

Woke up at 9am this morning and Candice took me out to Victoria Market at around 10+. According to her, it's best to visit Vic Market on Sunday as more stalls are opened on Sunday compared to the normal days. Nevermind about the breakfast as there's plenty to eat over there. She told me that I had to try this Melbourne Bratwurst Shop locates in a building next to Vic Market.

The Melbourne Bratwurst Shop

Look at the juicy big bratwursts!

I didn't know what to eat and I asked them for recommendation on which is their best seller. I was asked to try this spicy one which is the pork and black pepper bratwurst. I forgo the mustard and sauerkraut which is not exactly what I want in my bread and bratwurst combi. The bratwurst was huge! It was around AUD7++.

If you want to sit down comfortably and eat, there are some tables and chairs outside. But we preferred to eat and walk at the same time. And so we head to the Vic Market where it resembles a flea market, only bigger and neater.

This place also has many stalls selling cheese and delicatessen like the one below. There's even a corner stall that sells wines.

Just look at the sausages and ham!

Too bad I can't get any of those to bring home. It would be so nice to be able to bring the whole loaf of ham! I my dad would be estactic.

Queen Victoria Market

What I love about this market is the variety of items they had. They have from clothes (casual, dresses, cheongsams, jackets, lingerie to socks), shoes, paintings, posters, teddy bears, children items, accessories, food, electronics to souvenirs. It's also nice to walk in this weather where it's not too hot and not too cold either. Although the weather in Melbourne is like 4 seasons in a day, it was still bearable.

The stalls are all lined up neatly unlike Chatuchak in Bangkok.

I like this liquer shots stall.
They have a number of funny shots like banana split, melon and creme and Cowboy which is like Baileys. I managed to get a set of 6 shots for $10 although I really would love to bring home the 24 shots for $30.

Cool Australia yellow and green jackets.

Candice getting some cloths to make her own clothes.

Shoes anyone?

Lots of clothes around.

Cute little teddy bears for sale....

I like this cute shop for kids. They have cute handmade bags in pink and purple and items that makes a girl squeals with delight!

The market is also very famous for it's fresh fruits and vegetables. I didn't buy any of them obviously. How am I supposed to bring any home?

Actually the prices ain't that cheap. The clothes are priced from $20-$99 which is equivalent to prices at the retail shops. Most of the stalls are mend by Asian and I suspect the items here are mostly from China anyway. Some stalls are pretty interesting like the belt shop where you can choose from an array of fancy buckles and then they attached it to the belt of your choice. Perect! I didn't buy anything except a few packets of Macadamias, raisins and the 1 kg of Golden Boronia Nougats. That costs me $100 already!

After that, we went to the city, walk around a bit and then take a tram to Bridge Rd where the streets are lined up with boutiques and factory outlet stores. Will cover that another day. Can't wait for my adventure to Yarra Valley tomorrow. It was very nice of Mr. Dominique Portet himself to come pick me up and take me to his vineyard Dominique Portet.
