Right after sending some chocolate to my kiosk at the Tang's Xmas Store, I went to meet up with my long time friend, Jasmin. It was such an anticipated get together as I have not been seeing her for more than 6 months. She's the only one that I kept in touch with quite often after I left high school many moons ago. Other high school mates were just merely a "hie, how are you" kinda relationship. If Paris Hilton has a BFF, then Jasmin is my BFF (best friend forever). Our conversations never seemed to last and it was never a dull moment. Both of us love to indulge in shopping and eating together!
Since she was in town for a conference at KL convention centre, I suggested that we should meet up at Pavilion KL. After all, it's just a 10 minutes walk from her Impiana hotel, the place she was staying for these few days. We headed for a round of shopping at Tangs before going for our meal fix at Athena. I chose Athena because of the attention grabbing promotion that was displayed at the door. The promotion was of course for booze - Buy 1 Free 1 promotion on Tiger Beer (in mugs & Jugs) and wine.
We chose to sit outside as Iwould like to take a puff. After we were served our wine, I kindly asked for the cigar cutter and also the lighter as I've never own a cigar cutter or a lighter myself. The waiter was kind enough to help you cut your cigar and then light it up for you while trying to promote his outlet's cigar selection. He told me about his wonderful Cuban cigar selection and I told him politely that I happened to be smoking one too. It was nice sipping my wine, chatting and puffing while waiting for the food.
The seafood paella was not really up to my standards. First of all, for a dish that cost me RM34, there was not enough seafood in it. There were only 1 mussel, 1 prawn and 2 slices of fish and 3 slices of squid. How disappointing. The portion was just medium-sized which is just nice for us two girls to share. I felt the paella at Bruno's was way better.
We wanted to order the Eggplant as appetizer but it was not available on that day so we settled for Mediterranean chicken wings at RM30. It comes in half a dozen of wings, all divided into two parts. The chicken wings was okay, but a bit too oily. I could see the oil dripping from the wings.
The best deal was of course the beer promotion where you get Buy 1 Free 1 for either in mugs or in jugs. If I'm not wrong it should be RM59 for a jug and the promotion ends at 10pm. So "in a kiasu mode" I ordered another glass of wine at 9.30pm making a total count of 4 glasses of wine for the night. The house pouring wine is at RM28 a glass.
This is my dear friend Jasmin whom is now pursuing her masters at UTP. She's into petroleum GeoScience. What is that you ask? I don't know and have no idea but what I do know is that she's going to know many petroleum people. Lol...
This person needs no introduction. As I was puffing away with my cigar, the next table man was looking at me and then he came over and talked to me about the cigar I'm having. He asked me whether I was an air stewardess?!! Do I looked like one? Nah... maybe it's a compliment and it turns out that he's a MD of a tour agency and an agent for Gulf Air. Sorry, I only fly MH I told him. We talked a bit and he told me that he likes girls who like cigars. Haha... is that another pick up line? After exchanging a few sentences, he and his friends then left the place. He left his card for me to call him out for drinks and cigars but hmm...... I'll see how it goes.
After that, we had a nice walk outside pavilion before proceeding to my car where I send Jasmin back to her hotel and head home. It was a good evening spent as I really missed her. Imagine all the fun we would have if she's studying around here. The problem is that, her uni is at Tronoh!
The gigantic Xmas tree at Pavilion KL.
