Actually there's more to Langkawi than just shopping for duty free chocolates, liquor and tobacco. There's Pantai Kok (I know it sounds vulgar but the place is absolutely beautiful).
Pantai Kok is on the western part of the island approximately 12km north of Pantai Cenang, and about 20 mins from the Langkawi airport. However, it's almost 45mins drive from Kuah town and a taxi from there would cost you around RM25 to get here. Pantai Kok fronts a beautiful bay that is surrounded by limestone hills and lush green jungle. On the waterfront, is the Telaga Harbour Park, a yachting marina with a string of shops, bars, restaurants and a petrol station (Petronas). Additionally it has several recreational attractions such as Oriental Village which house the cable-car ride to the peak of Mat Cincang Mountain and the Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls. Within it's vicinity, the hotels to look out for is Sheraton and Tanjung Sanctuary which are upscale hotels.
This is the marina for yachts at Perdana Quay in Telaga Harbour Park. Some of these yachts are really big and it looked like I could house a party for a 100pax. As I was strolling along the wharf, I wished I could be working here! It's really relaxing and you can just disconnect yourself from the life of hustle and bustle city. Does people live on yachts?
This outlet here should be the 1st outlet for The Loaf under the ownership of our ex PM, Tun Mahathir and it's concept is based on Japanese style bakery. Even the Grand Chef, Mr. Yukichi Matsubara whom I have the privilege of meeting is a Japanese but he's based in Malaysia for a number of years now. He's quite a young chap with good looks and clear English pronunciation. You know how sometimes we could just vomit blood speaking English to some Japaneses. His assistant chef whom is in charge of this outlet full-time, Mr. Yusuf is also a very friendly guy.
This place doesn't only serve bread and pastries. They do have dishes like breakfast sets, soup served on bread bowls, pasta and main dishes such as chicken, beef and steak. The prices are quite steep too ranging from RM20+ for a pasta to RM40-60 for a main.
Fresh bread for grab & go and pretty cheesecake desserts!
I had "The Wild Thing" which is a blend of watermelon, pineapple and some other juices for a refreshing and cooling after effect. My distributor had a Lemongrass which according to Yusuf was one of his favourites as well. The fluffy cheesecake was very good and I think I finished it in a few spoonful. They have a variety of mini cheesecakes in small paper cups called Mini U-Hu-Hu which resembles the cupcakes.

It was so nice and relaxing to sit by the window sill and admire the scenery from inside the shop. It's facing the yachts directly. Never mind I cannot own one because at least I can sit there and dream. Or you can choose to sit outside if you want to be literally next to the yachts and smell the sea breeze!
