First of all, I would like to thank all my readers, supporters and friends who came and supported me, RT at my Tweets, comments on my Facebook and also on the blog. It wouldn't have been fun without you guys and thanks to you, I nailed the 1st task at 11am for the most comments on my post.
My biggest supporter would of course have to be my sister, Yiling. I text her at 10am to ask her to support me and she did wake up to leave me a comment on my blog! She then dropped by with Calvin at 4pm to support me. But of course, it came with a price. Free meal extortion.
The tasks that we have to do for the 8 hours at Midvalley includes blogging/tweeting & facebooking live, treasure hunt, recording a show in the shortest time and some interaction with our supporters. We were not only there to do all those tasks but to also test the user friendly features of Astro Byond PVR. Lucky toilet breaks are included throughout the event and we don’t need to pee in a plastic bag.
We had so much. It’s just crazy!! For the last task, we had to fight for a remote control which would earn 300 points and no prize for guessing, Redmummy won the Astro B.yond PVR unit! Congratulations to her!
She said I'm like a blog-whore. I couldn't agree less. That event made me understand the meaning of desperation. You know what I did?!! I BBMed, SMSed, MSNed, TWITTERed, FACEBOOKed and BLOGged to fish comments. Gosh that was really desperate. And by the tweets and comments that we flooded into the social networking site on Sat, I felt sorry for my readers and friends. I don't mean to be so "desperate" but if I don't, it'll be like giving up on the tasks even without trying!
The Astro Byond PVR (It’s a HD enabled Personal Video Recorder) is really a cool gadget to have especially when I can record two programs at a time while I go on dates! No more missing any of my favourite TV shows and no more fighting with Mom (she always hog the AFC channel). I no longer have to choose between dinners or TV shows! Cool eh? More info here and ASTRO FB page here.
After being tortured and served sandwiches for lunch, and went home with a laptop backpack (I don't even own a laptop), I decide to reward my sis, calvin and myself to a good meal at The Gardens. I took them to Fong Lye, but looking at the train-long queue, I said let's forget about it cos I'm starving!! And so we went to Go Gung, a Korean restaurant and after sitting there for 10mins and ready to order, the waiter told us that all the dishes we want is not available! WTF..
The last resort, we walked next door to Crystal Jade. Less crowded, nice ambiance and good chinese food!
As a reward to my sis and Calvin, we ordered a half a Peking duck, a claypot tofu, spinach with salted & century eggs, and the duck meat fried rice. Then we had a mango and aloe vera dessert!!
