The Pressroom @ BSC
This is relatively a new place (ok maybe not so new now). I've finally get a chance to try this outlet since Emily asked me to join her at BSC after work yesterday... yes, I work on Saturdays. How sad. Anyways, I've heard the food here is quite good so I decided to give it a go. This place is under the same management of La Bodega, which is just next door!
Emily
She's my eating & hanging out buddy, and my reliable insurance agent cum family friend since my mom and hers are friends. Plus... we live in the same neighborhood. So anyone want to buy insurance, I strongly recommend her. (sorry for the 1 second pimping)
According to Emily, the mojito here is good. My carrot + orange is ok.
The tasting plate of starters/appetisers for the day is written on the blackboard. Yesterday, it was Crayfish Salad, Steak Tartare and Salmon Gravlax. I feel that the portion are quite small and the crayfish only comes in 1 piece and not a pair! Taste wise, it's acceptable.
Braised Wagyu Cheeks with Turnip Risotto (RM36)
The risotto is done very well but I could not say the same for the wagyu beef cheeks. They tend to be overcooked for some reason. Most importantly, finish the risotto before it turns cold. Not a dish I fancy though.
I had the Apple Studel with Vanilla Ice-Cream and she had the Amandine. All desserts at RM12. I find that the strudels here are not made using the puffpastry or crispy pastry that I like. Definitely a no for me on this dish. The Amandine (pistachio, hazelnut & almond Ice-Cream with butterscotch and whipped cream) is good. However, I think the portion is too big for me.
Their mains can range from RM30 - RM90 if you order dishes like sirloin or tenderloin steaks. Overall, it's a nice place to hang out and perhaps I should try a few more of other dishes before I conclude whether I would come here again or not.
Happy Sunday!
