Burj Al Arab is a name that needs no introduction. Everyone knows about the 1st 7star hotel in the world is situated on a man made island in Dubai. Well, I was there today, literally. Although it's a sight from far, at least I made it there to pose with the burj! It's like a must-snap-photo-spot if you're ever in Dubai. It's situated at the Jumeirah beach and connected by a curving bridge which is inaccessible to others if you're not staying at the hotel.
Rooms starting at 1000USD a night, it'll probably cost me my month's salary to put up a night there. The royal suite goes up to USD28k a night, which I could never ever even dare to dream of. Just a visit to the burj used to cost around DHS 100 when it was opened and now it is DHS200 for a visit. However, if you dine there, they will deduct the fees from the bill and thus the visit is free. An afternoon tea there will cost around 50 Euros (aiks).
Below are some photos that will make you disturbingly jealous. View at your own risk!

Feeling jealous already? Good. I haven't show you th shopping centres that I went today. But I can reveal to you that I went to the largest shopping mall in the world - Dubai Mall which was opened on the 4th. With 1200 retailers, it features an Olympic size Ice Rink, Dubai Aquarium & Discovery Centre, two anchor department stores - Galeries Lafayette and Bloomingdale's; 220 gold & jewellery outlets; 160 food & beverage outlets; a supermarket and an organic food mart. However, not all is opened as only 600 retailers are operational when I visited today.
More updates soon. Very sleepy now. Good night.
