H-Artistry @ The Opera

The Opera Club @ Sunway Pyramid

The return of H-Artistry this time is done at The Opera Club at Sunway Pyramid. I would say this is just a small party to start the year as the club is small and it was quite packed to the brim.

This is a new clubbing scene in Sunway, which is to my advantage since it's nearer to where I stay. Said to be remodeled after the renowned La Scala Opera House in Milan, Italy but I think it's just a simple 3-storey high former Sunway Pyramid monorail station turned clubbing joint. There are 3 rooms - The Main Room (club floor), The Long Lounge and The Red Observatory (a bar to chill). It's actually quite a small place and I heard the queues to get in is crazy!

First H-Artistry of the year - say Hennessy.....
The obligatory picture.

After pulling some strings, we managed to get our VIP tickets to attend the event. All of the 3 sisters had got their own strings by the way but we still got to hang out together that night. I heard that the VIP lounge was upstairs but we didn't bothered to went up and so we were downstairs all the while enjoying the blasting music and performances by various artists.

When we arrived, errr... about 10.40pm, Bunkface was playing and after that followed by the incredible performance by Shawn Lee, Malaysia's own beatbox entertainer. His beatboxing skills was simply awesome! He's got his own blog too, and if you're into it, you can check out his site. Joey G was the MC of the night. After that, it was DVJ G Mix playing the night. I think we missed DJ Sarasa.

This is Ziling & me.
So nice of her to drive us there!

Happened to meet Putt there too.
A friend from Ipoh since a decade ago whom is a future actuarist...

Putt with the Lim Sistas.
We were all friends and got to know each other at the English tuition.

Yiling is happy!
The Coach clutch that I bought for her is nice hor...

Ziling & colleagues.
Noticed that all her colleagues are all pretty babes. I jealous.

Bumped into Yat when I was leaving.
Almost can't recognise him with his super short hairstyle.

Met Sue Lynn, the cun Bangsar-babe.
How I wished I can be half as slim and pretty like her... damn...

That's all the booze we had.

This H-Artistry is not as fun as some of the previous ones. I love it when they threw a big party at Bukit Kiara. I hope a big one is coming soon as I can't wait to attend the next one. That's all the pics (since it wasn't very happening) and it was so packed and so hot!

H-Artistry @ Quattro Club KL

So, this is the finale of all Artistry "The Global Art of Mixing" for year 2009. One word to sum it all - disappointing. I was very disappointed with the choice of location! Afterall, if this is the last one, how come the venue is so small?!! Not to mention the the big pillar with DJ deck is blocking the view of the stage if you're at the back of the room!

I think Aloha or Orange Club fared better than Quattro as the choice of location anytime although I still prefer Bukit Kiara by leaps and bounds. I went there at 11.30pm which I missed the performance of Hsiao Hung Jen and Paul Freeman. When I was there, Lenka was already singing and we couldn't even squeeze our way through to get our drinks at the bar. It was packed like hell and literally and physically like Sardines! Even sardines in the can has more space than us that night!

Even the VIP area on the upper deck is packed! Ooh look at the girls with short skirts....

Boys Like Girls

Lead Vocalist - Martin Johnson

We were in time for Boys Like Girls. It is a four-piece rock band from Boston, Massachusetts comprising of front man, lead vocalist is Martin Johnson, John Keefe (drums), Bryan Donahue (bass) and Paul DiGiovanni (lead guitar). I like Bryan (the blonde) whom plays the bass and I think he's better looking than Martin especially after he has his long hair cut short. They entertained the crowd well and we also did a "yam seng" (toast) with Hennessy!

I went with Li Wei & Hue Gee...

Thanks Yatz for the tickets from Nuffnang.

The Ipoh Girls....

Now you see...

Now you don't...

Managed to find my sisters as well during the party. Thanks to a dear friend for the extra tickets for Ziling and some friends! They were there much earlier than us and as usual they walloped a fair bit of Hennessy cocktails. Actually it was my 3rd round of drinking yesterday with the start of Hoegaarden, then sake at Thai restaurant with friends and then Hennessy.... When I'm home, I'm still perfectly SOBER!

H-Artistry Finale

This is the finale Artistry for year 2009 which would be held on 2nd October at Club Quattro KL (Avenue K on Jalan Ampang). Yes, the year is coming to an end in 3 months and what's a better way to celebrate it with Artistry this Friday?!!

Imagine, not only you have a great line-up of artistes, music and DJs, you'll also get to drink Hennessy VSOP till you drop! So I think it's a must go for me this Friday and Yiling would be joining me too! Ziling's fate would be known later today as she just missed the chance of getting the tickets. Who ask you to be so busy working?!!

BOYS LIKE GIRLS & LENKA are among the big names of this year's H-ARTISTRY ‘THE GLOBAL ART OF MIXING’ FINALE. I like Lenka as her songs are very cute and catchy. For more info, go to http://www.blogger.com/www.h-artistry.com.my.

So who's going?

ARTISTRY @ Bukit Kiara July 2009

One massive party, one great venue and a helluva night!

Notice that they ditch the word "Hennessy"? Apparently the new government ruling disallow the use of liquor brand names in events. And this event also do not allow muslim to participate because the organisers do make the courtesy call to inform it's registered guests.

I always like the Hennessy Artistry to be held at Bukit Kiara Indoor Arena. Not only it's spacious, the venue is big! This time around, the arrangement of the VIP area is a little different with bigger area and even a bigger BAR!

The V area

The VIP area is divided into 4 areas according to the word V.S.O.P. The P area is the VVIP area where they are elevated a floor above the O area. My sisters and her friends are at O and my youngest sister, my friends and the bloggers are at S, which is mainly the media area. The rest of the dance floor is for the normal passes and the best thing about the VIP area is that they have their individual bars and sofas!

Fatman Scoop

Don't ask me about the performances because I was simply too busy drinking. The big performer of the night would have to be Fatman Scoop. The stage is very impressive too! I must say that this Hennessy Artistry is nicely done!

Me!

The foyer before the main area where you can sample some Hennessy Cocktail shots! This time they serve Hennessy mixed with apple juice, ginger ale and soda. I don't like them very much as I still prefer the classic cocktails like Hennessy Miami, Shanghai and .....

I went with my sisters! An obligatory Lim Sister's presence at all Hennessy Artistry events! Heheh. This post is full of photographs because I was simply too lazy to elaborate on the event.

One Massive Party @ Hennessy Artistry

Finally, Hennessy Artistry is here again - even better & bigger this time. Well, that's what I heard and it's going to be held in Bukit Kiara Indoor Arena again. The last time I was there for the Hennessy Artistry was in July 2008 and I remembered that Bukit Kiara is so far the best location as it is spacious and the air-condition is cool enough.

So, this coming Hennessy Artistry is set on 25th July, which is this Saturday and I'll be going (with my sisters too)! The list of performers include the Ying Yang Twins, Fatman Scoop, Dominique Tsai, DJ Camilo, Homies, Mr.Sam, Milinka Radisic, Lumisense and local band One Buck Short. Wow...

The only bummer is that if you try to log on to Hennessy Artistry now to register yourself to get some invites, don't even try. While the website page asks visitors to click on it to register....

Register Now

And this idiotic message popped up....

I've just received the text yesterday from Hennessy Artistry and when I log on to try to register, I was disappointed! Oh well, the lucky thing is, I've already gotten myself some VIP passes so it doesn't matter even if I can't register online. If you're still trying to get some invites, you can purchase a bottle of Hennessy which entitles you to 1 miserable pass and if you purchase two bottles, you get 5 passes at selected nightspots like Quattro.

I'll see you at Hennessy Artistry this Saturday!

Hennessy Artistry @ Orange Club

This would be my 4th Hennessy Artistry event this year. It's HA's 5th event but I missed the one that was held last year. After going to HA so many times, I would say that I've never been bored with it because they always get good celebrities to grace the event. This time around, Shayne Ward, Until June and The Dey were performing. It was also my first time to Orange Club, a humble little club behind BBC along Jalan Kia Peng. Parking is easily available at Menara HLA for a flat rate of RM6.00.

Oops we looked at the wrong camera!

The celebrities...

The Venue

Knowing the big crowd that would be thronging to Orange Club for the event, I drove my sisters and her friends early and by 9.45pm, we were there lining up for the registration and thus spending RM5.20 for toll fees. I know, what am I doing by using highways on this Saturday where probably 50% of the people in the city had gone back to their hometown for the coming Hari Raya?!! But still, lucky we were there early. When we were inside, I heard that the queue was so long and inside the club, it was already packed like sardines.

We managed to get a good spot on the left side of the stage where it's less stuffy and less crowded. The space was mostly occupied by my sisters' and my friends where we've got a pretty good view of all the artistes that performed that night. It started with a (typical girl squeal) very cute DJ - Tom Price. He was so so cute that me and my sisters can't take our eyes off him. Had no idea who he is but his good looks is a fact!

And thus this camwhore pic since I can't get close to the real person.
Desperado I know.

It was good fun to be so near the stage where you could see the performances and artistes at such proximity. The performance of Until June was quite good but lack the clubbing atmosphere. The best the crowd could do was to stand there and nod. The songs were nice but a bit "emo". And next came The Dey. The name is derived from the group members' first initial and this Latin Hip Hop group is following the styles of the Black Eyed Peas. One of their famous appearances is alongside Sean Kingston and Juelz Santana in " There's Nothin". They did a good job in bringing the hype to the crowd.

Next came Shayne Ward - the person that everyone was waiting for. At just 24 years old, he's been quite popular. He won the X Factor competition in the UK and since then he had released two albums. I liked his single "Breathless" but he didn't sing that song yesterday. He sang a few songs including "Apologise" (Timbaland ft One Republic) and a collaboration with The Dey.

The performances ended about 12.30 - 1am and DJ came out to spin for the rest of the night. My sister, our friends and I had a crazy time on the dance floor. We met some pretty cool friends yesterday who loves to party and we drank and we danced like mad people until 2am. There wasn't a need for us to walk to the bar for drinks as there was this Hennessy guy who walks around with a jug of Hennessy and did all the refilling for us throughout the night. Did I forget to mention that he looked cute too?!! Haha...no wonder I kept on emptying my glass.

And the red carpet poses......

And acting Djs....

Overall, the party has been satisfactory. The music is always a good mix of everything from Hip Hop to Tranz because that's what Hennessy Artistry is all about - the global art of mixing. I love the free Hennessy there especially Hennessy Miami. How often could you have good music, good company and free flow of good alcohol? Now, the lacking ingredient would be good chocolates. Any chocolates for next Hennessy Artistry?!! Alcoholics rejoice!

The answer is: None of them.
