The year 2010 has indeed ended with a good note as I spent my New Year's eve together with some gfs and some of their friends. We had a dinner together at a new restaurant, well, not the average restaurant because this place offers a private dining at the comfort of a real home! It's in a house and one day advance reservation is compulsory. I shall reveal the location in my coming posts when I do feel like talking about food.
What was really eventful about my New Year's Eve celebration is that we rushed into KL to be in time for the fireworks and countdown. A friend of ours didn't want to miss the countdown because the previous year, she was stuck in a traffic jam and thus I suggested that we take the public transport to the city center, knowing that the traffic would be crazy.
And so, on the last hour of 2010, I finally had a chance to ride in our very own KL Monorail. We took the STAR LRT to Hang Tuah station and then change to the Monorail to get to Medan Tuanku. The girls wanted to go to the Asian Heritage Row for some partying. Finally, I have my cherry popped for Monorail on the last day of 2010. What an adventure!
After watching a 5-minute fireworks display from KLCC, we decided to party at a club nearby. The fireworks was kind of disappointing. It looked as if they were short of budget to put up a good show. By the way, the Asian Heritage Row now looks quite dead. Gone are the days when it was one of the most happening streets in KL.
One disappointment led to another because the club that we went to was terrible. To start with, we paid RM398 for a bottle of JW black label which we realised that it was not the "REAL thing" and then the DJ started to annoy us so badly that I feel like strangling him on the spot. He likes to pause and mute the songs making you sing the rest of it and then he will make an appearance on the stage and start singing the song. Most of the times, he liked to shout and add extra lines to the song which irritated me to the max! I will never go back there again!
I got home at 4+ am and went to sleep at 5am. It was indeed a nice new year's eve spending time with my gfs but the club spoils it. Over the weekend, I went for a run with Emily at the park in our neighbourhood, did some house chores and had a shopping spree on Sunday. I can't believe that my gfs and I spent 8 hours in Bangsar Village!
I'm so loving my weekend! But there's more reason to it now -
