It was my lucky day. I got to date two guys on the same night! (I wished I was that lucky!) Just kidding, I was meeting up with two of my friends and we just want it to be a quiet night and thus we didn't call others to join us that night.
We had a drink before deciding where to have dinner. Ok, it was not a drink, it was a bottle of wine shared by 3 of us. You know, men could sometimes be so boring because all they talk about was work-business-work-business and I was almost bored to death.
Then as they were talking, I told them that the Italian Ribena I was drinking was very nice! That's when I got their attention and what I got was this "F*cking Shit! You know this is a good bottle of Chianti!" Haha... of course I would know that! I'm not f*cking illiterate. I could read you know...
It was indeed a good bottle of Chianti. The Chianti Classico Rocca Guicciarda Riserva (Barone Ricasoli) 2007 is still a little rough but it has a very nice nose and a palate full of berries and blackcurrant. You can also taste the oak and some coffee. This is indeed a big wine.
As I was starting to fell asleep on the chair after a few glasses, finally the men decided to stop talking and adjourn for dinner.
We chose Carmen's Vinothek along Changkat Bukit Bintang where we can have some light food and also wine drinking. Too bad Carmen wasn't there that night as it's been quite sometime since I last seen her. The wine for the night was a bottle of Rioja.
It's a 91 pointer by Stephen Tanzer- Jul/Aug 09: "(84% tempranillo, 13% garnacha and 3% mazuelo) Bright red. Fresh red berry and spice aromas suggest a higher percentage of garnacha. Suave, energetic red berry flavors stain the palate, nicely braced by tangy mineral and spice qualities. The finish repeats the red fruit note and hangs on tenaciously."
We have some light food which I think was really a good idea. It's not healthy to be having heavy dinners so often.
Will be at the airport on Thursday at 8am to fly to Thailand for work. What a bummer as everyone is on a half working day at the office!
So have a long weekend peeps! And Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri! Drive safe!

The 3 of us had two plates of this! Jamon Iberico with Rock melon.
Cold cuts of ham & salami with nuts and greens.
And I had to order my favourite Werner's choice pasta that comes with smoked duck meat!! This is really an awesome pasta to go with wines!
Like I said, it was just a quiet night. Actually the night whizzed past so quickly I couldn't even recalled what we were chatting about. All I know after that two bottles of wine, I knew I had enough and I need to leave or else, the puking incident would repeat itself (which I would reveal soon). Don't know what happened to my alcohol tolerance level these days. Maybe I was too tired I guess.Cold cuts of ham & salami with nuts and greens.
