I'm chilling out at my favourite place - Skybar @ Traders Hotel. The last time I was there was probably 2 weeks ago (here). It's no doubt a great place for a drink while admiring the beautiful city view from above especially when you get the full view of our infamous KLCC Twin Towers. This time, I asked to see the manager, whom commented on my previous blog post but too bad, he was on leave.
This time, instead of having a mocktail, I decided to go for a bottle of white. There are a few selection of whites at Skybar such as sauvignon blanc, chardonnay or Riesling. Prices range from RM120+ to around RM200+.

Cape Mentelle Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2008
Cape Mentelle, sister to Cloudy Bay is a winery at Margaret River, a world-renowned remote wine region in south west of Australia. Anyone who loves Australian wines would have tried at least a bottle or two from Margaret River. What makes Cape Mentelle famous is that it's represented by LVMH group which under Moet Hennessy has an impressive portfolio of wines.
This Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2008 (RM190+ at Skybar), is a very light drinking white. However, when it was served, it wasn't chilled enough. A suitable serving temperature for a Sauvignon Blanc or other whites such as Chardonnays, Rieslings and Chenin Blancs should be around 7 degrees Celsius. Thus, I had to chill it a bit more in the ice bucket. Since our climate is so warm, the wine gets warmed up quite fast.

This wine, has a pale greenish colour. On the nose, it has hints of zesty lime and some citrus blossoms. On the palate, it displays tastes of lemon which gives it a good citrus acidity coupled with fruity notes. It's actually quite a limey-balanced white. It's a very crisp white wine, perfect for a warm evening, by the pool!
At 7pm, the staff has to chase the patrons off because the GAB people are having an event there. I think it's about launching their new Tiger beer. It's quite fascinating watching a photographer at work, don't you think?

Yesterday, I went to look for a friend whom I'm having dinner with for a pre dinner drinks and nibble. As I arrived, I was greeted by.... hams!!! Oh dear, this is so irresistible! Perfect as appetizers.
From top left: Parma Ham, Country Ham & Smoked Bacon.
Thank God It's Friday!!!
P/S: I'm a guest blogger today for Cumi & Ciki's Blogger in the Spotlight (B.I.T.S) Friday so hop over and have a read!
Cheers.
All these can be bought from O Gourmet at BSC Food Hall. I find the country ham very nice as it is tender and full of robust flavours. It went down very well with the whisky. After that we adjourned to a new place for dinner in town, BUBU, which I would blog later!
