My SGD10 Chinese Tea

After reading KY's review of the "Outrageously Expensive Japanese Green Tea @ GoGung", it reminded me of the outrageously expensive chinese tea I had at Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant at UOB Plaza 1 in Singapore.

Why is it expensive?

Si Chuan Dou Hua is the first Chinese restaurant to introduce the novel concept of pairing premium Chinese teas with fine Sichuan and Cantonese cuisine in Singapore. I went to one of the outlets in UOB Plaza 1, which is in the Central Business District.

Besides the authentic cuisine, a unique aspect of dining at Si Chuan Dou Hua is the presence of the traditional tea master who integrates Chinese martial arts, dance and gymnastics to perform a host of elegant and skilled stunts when pouring tea. It is famed for being the first to bring in acrobatic tea servers into the local culinary scene, delighting guests with their artistic displays of tea-pouring from their metre-long spout kettles.

It's an experience to watch him pour your tea!

They were very professional and a master of detail. From the temperature of the mineral water used, to the type of tea set or 茶具 (‘cha ju’), it will visually enhance the overall dining and tea appreciation experience, as every brew is prepared according to exacting standards. You'll have to wait 2 minutes for the tea to brew before you can have a sip of it.

At least the tea I had was premium tea leaves and not some leaves in a tea bag. Lol... And the breathtaking view from the 60th floor was worth the price!
