Saturday Nite Live

Normally my Saturdays could be quite a bore. I go to work, come home to nap, have a dinner outside and then sleep. Yesterday was a particularly busy Saturday where I woke up at 8am and did not rest until midnight. I worked of course, one of my busiest Saturdays because I was trying to complete the budget and also to reconcile the pending accounts of the sales I did for the previous month. I had been so busy lately that I haven't even submitted my expenditure claim for the month of December. Looks like I would be broke in January with an exception if my ang pow collections are good. I should be making a list of houses to visit so that I maximise my collections. Anyone wants to invite me?

I have made an appointment with my hairstylist last month for a haircut and restyling for my assistant and me on the 3rd. Her entire month is fully booked so lucky I made an early booking. Anyone that walks through that door with long hair is bound to walk out short. No one has made it walking out with long hair. My hairstylist has a reputation for being convincing and she would always recommend the hairstyles to cut and not the other way round. So far, two of my colleagues have gone there and one of them with long hair walked out short the next minute. And the other was my assistant, whom wanted to keep her hair long and have a straightening but ended up short anyways!

Her record: Not a single customer with long hair walking out of her shop!

This time, she did quite a radical hairstyle for me. A total change of hair colour and spotting even a shorter haircut. As if my hair wasn't short enough. I have just gone for a haircut last month and now I found myself having another one. The highlights were lighter and more daring, making me worry whether I can carry off this hairdo or not. I'll say goodbye to auntyhood and hellooo wild girl!

Cut the story short: Here's the picture!

I hope I don't look like some "la la"

My different hairstyles throughout the last quarter of the year.

After my haircut, I went to Jalan Alor to meet up with my childhood friend Clinton who was in KL for a few days with his friends and cousin from Melbourne. I knew him since I was in high school because my mom and his mom were schoolmates. His mom has migrated to Melbourne even before Clinton and his sister, Candice was born. They only come to Malaysia once a year and they haven't been back here for a few years.

Clinton and his friends were all staying at Hotel Nova. It sounded familiar to me and I found out that it's just one of the better looking hotels on Jalan Alor. For a USD25 a night, it's pretty cheap minus the notoriety reputation of the location. Thus they suggest to meet my sisters and I for a dinner at Chu Cha, one of the hawkers at Jalan Alor. Mom tagged along too....

Clockwise from left: Keith, Gareth, Ziling, Yiling, Clinton, Mom & Jon.

Sisterly bond.

Eventhough we were all meeting for the first time, we managed to click very well. They were all very friendly and fun. The best thing was, everyone was fighting to pay for the bills. Mom paid some and the food bill which totalled to RM190 for 10 dishes including crabs, balitong, grilled sting ray and the veges were paid by Terence. They all liked the grilled sting ray because you can't eat sting ray in Australia. It was Terence's & Gareth's first time to KL but Keith is already working in KL. The funny thing is although Keith has been working in KL, he doesn't really go out and thus he don't really know where to take the guys!

Feels nice to be surrounded by men huh!

It was also my first time celebrating someone's birthday at a hawker place. Keith bought a cake for Terence's birthday! He's 28th now (gosh how could a 28-year-old looks younger than me?!!) and because it was his birthday, he paid for the bill. The people surrounding us was pratically looking at us when we took out the cake. They must be wondering why celebrate it here?!!

The guys... Gareth, Terence, Keith, Clinton & Jon. None a blogger but likes to take pictures!

And because we are in Malaysia, we celebrate it the Malaysian style. After Terence had blown the candle, we stuck the candle all the way deep into the cake and have him take it out with his mouth. He thought we were going to smack his face right into the cake but we didn't because we wanted to eat the cake and maybe not to embarrass him there. The guys were quite friendly and they went around taking photos with other people. Haha...

After that, we walked back to their hotel and ate the cake in the coffee house. Then, my sisters took them to Zouk as they all wanted to club. I didn't go because I was tired and I was not dressed to the occasion. Wonder would Zouk bouncers throw me out if I walked in with a pair of slippers?!!

I went home with my mom and it was already 12 by then. I had such a tiring day and not to mention having to go to Pavilion tonight at 10.30pm to dismantle the booth.

We would be going to Euphoria on next Wednesday just 2 days before the boys would be flying off. Anyone want to join?
