How did I celebrate Merdeka's Day? By feasting on porcine delights of course! I was at Pavilion with Mom when Emily called and so I asked her to join us shopping at Pavilion before heading out for dinner at El Cerdo together. She was having this porky cravings and only El Cerdo can do justice.
From Top Left: Rose Raspberry Sangria (RM49 for 500ml), Jamon Serrano from Spain (RM38) which is the imported high quality Spanish cured air dried ham served with rock melon and salad, Paella Traditional (RM88) with seafood, chicken, Chorizo sausage & pork and lastly the Crispy Pork Belly With Herbs (RM48).
The reason why the pork there is so yummylicious and different from your local pork joints is because they are using the black-coated Iberico pigs that are fed on acorns. They also serve roasted suckling pigs at RM118 (for 2) and RM219 (for 4) which is a signature at this outlet because of the way it is served. You get to use a white plate to cut the pig and then you get to smash the plate into a wooden bin. They even sing the birthday song with a twist with an additional "oink oink" after every verse.

Hot & Cold (RM19.50)
A dessert of Cold Vanilla Ice-Cream served with generous helping of Hot mixed berries sauce with red wine and whipped cream.
Emily & Me
Overall, the food is good especially the air dried ham and the pork belly. I do feel that the Paella is too pricey as most places serve it at under RM60. The prices at El Cerdo has definitely gone up over the years but it remained popular due to loyal fans at this porky heaven. They do have an extensive range of wines and the head sommelier is very experienced too!
I was at Pavilion earlier at around 3.30pm to meet up with Arthur from STP, a blog that I read daily and vice versa. He was in town and when he text me to meet up in KL, I said why not?!! And so I met Arthur at Espressamente, my favourite illy coffee joint if I have to have a caffeine infused drink. It was my first time meeting him and he brought me a present! So kind of him to have brought me a....
So that I can be Ms. Popeye and start puffing away since I blogged before about my newfound interest. Arthur was very kind and a nice person to talk to. We talked about blogs and politics before I had to bid goodbye to meet up with another friend.
The other gift I received on the same day was this...
Celine Handbag!
Look how big the bag was! It was almost 4X the standard MNG paper bag. And it comes with the usual bag and also a very big magnetic hard paper box. Very classy! Although it's not the Celine bag I wanted, it was quite a nice and simple bag which can be converted from a working bag to a casual weekend bag.
From this...
Everyone who knew me well knows that I'm a Celine freak. I have Celine handbags, the wallet and the namecard holder. If there's any new bags to buy, I'll only save them for Celine! My the other Celine boogie bag here. I actually find some similarities between the Celine and Gucci designs but I find the Celine to be a little more expensive and the logo is nicer. One plus point - there are not many people who fancy Celine and thus less fake bags!
I have not de-virginised my bag yet at this moment! Haha....
