Pretty Souvenirs

Recently Calvin went to Hong Kong and bought us some souvenirs and I would say that among all the souvenirs that are used for decoration purposes given by so many people, the ones he bought for my sisters and I are highly appreciated. Being a guy, and so thoughtful ahem.... (all the guys are waiting to attack me on this statement) should be jealous of Calvin's intelligence. Oh, btw, it doesn't take intelligence to get good souvenirs, just some attention to the details.

He bought three of us mini versions of the musical instruments that we play. I play the Gu-Zheng, Ziling is on the Yang Qin and Yiling (the brightest one) plays the Yang Qin and Pipa.

The Gu Zheng (Chinese Lyre/Harp)

The Yang Qin (Chinese Piano)

Our Orchestra

See, they are all so cute and the designs are so intricate. Yeah I have been playing it for almost 18 years now and not many people actually knew about it because it's an irony as I don't come from a chinese educated background but plays chinese musical instruments. For occasional kicks, I do performances and earn the extra bucks from it. I bought my first pair of Nike shoes and bag by playing 2 songs at a company's annual dinner where I charged RM100 per song when I was in secondary school.

Compare to the real thing

The pictures are taken with Calvin's Nikon D40. Love the camera. The shots are so clear.

How it was shot

It's already the 1st of June and I had quite a few backlogs on the parties that I have attended for the past week. This is what happens when I'm busy making excuses being lazy to blog.
